How To Register IDM

This is the Detailed Method to Register Internet Download Manager Manually

• The Method is splitted into 4 Parts in which Part 3 and 4 are Important.

Part 1:

Note:

• If you have IDM Installed then use this method to Remove it Completely from your PC
• If You don't have IDM installed then skip to "Part 2"

METHOD:

Step 1: Uninstall IDM from Control Pannel

Step 2: Open up "Run"

Step 3: Type "regedit" and hit enter

Step 4: Navigate to:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > DownloadManager

Step 5: Delete "DownloadManager" Folder

Part 2:

Step 1: Go to Google Type "IDM" and Download Latest version of IDM

Step 2: Install IDM Setup

• Open IDM Setup

• Click Next

• Next

• Next Again

• Click Finish

• Click Close (after reading it)

Step 3:  Open IDM

• Navigate To Registration Option and open it

• A registration Forum will Appear

• Fill out The Forum And Give One of the Following Serial Numbers and Click OK

Part 3:      EDIT HOSTS FILE

• This Part is the Most Important Part So Read and Follow Carefully
• In this part We will edit the Hosts file of windows to disable the connectionbetween IDM and Registration server of IDM
• There are 2 Methods of  Editing Hosts File

METHOD 1:

Step1) Go to:   C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Note: If you are Using Windows XP Skip to Step 4 of this Method

Step 2) Right Click on Hosts File Go to Properties

Step 3) Go to Users Under Security Tab and Click Edit

• Click on Users

• Click on Allow Box In front of Full control Option and Click Apply

• Click Yes

• Click OK

• Click OK again

Step 4) Open Hosts File with Notepad

Step 5) Copy and Paste These Codes into Hosts File

 Step 6) Under File Click on Save

Note: Check again By opening Hosts file with Notepad to Confirm if The codes are saved

• After addition of codes the size of Hosts file will also increased (from 1 Kb to 2 Kb) this is another way to Confirm that
